How do Maxeon Performance solar panels differ from Conventional Panels?
There are a variety of key technical differences between Maxeon Performance solar panels and Conventional Panels, including the design and layout of the solar cells and the electric architecture—which combine to enhance the reliability, performance and aesthetics of Performance panels.
To go into a bit more technical detail, first, we laser cut each Maxeon Performance cell into strips and layer them in a shingled configuration to create a ‘hypercell’. This shingled hypercell allows us to fit more active cell area into each panel, boosting power and efficiency. Second, Performance cells are connected with a flexible joint interconnection to offer multiple and redundant paths for energy flow. This allows us to remove the front contact conductive ribbons and solder bonds found in conventional cells that can block active cell area and deteriorate over time, leading to cell failures and power deficits. Finally, Maxeon Performance panels feature a unique parallel circuit architecture that significantly limits power loss in shade and soiling. The result is a superior shingled panel constructed with commodity cells, outperforming conventional panels in efficiency, performance and reliability.
How much does it cost to install solar panels?
The cost of a solar system will vary depending on the quality of equipment and installation firm you choose. At the end of the day, solar should deliver a lower cost of electricity. That’s why, when evaluating solar, you want a panel that guarantees the lowest price per kilowatt hour (kWh), not the cheapest price per watt (PPW). Savvy CFOs understand that cost/kWh is a far better indicator of long-term value and savings than simple PPW.
What tax credits are available?
The Federal Investment Tax Credit (ITC) allows business owners to receive a credit of 30% of their total solar energy system costs. And the Modified Accelerated Cost Recovery System (MACRS) depreciation tax code enables businesses to further drive down costs. You’ll want to work with a local installer who understands all the tax benefits, including any state and local incentives that are available to you.
Why invest in solar now?
Electricity prices continue to rise, making grid energy (and the status quo) less and less appealing for businesses. Fortunately, between the 30% ITC and 20% MACRS, businesses can cut their solar investment costs by 50%. When you install a solar system now, you will get a lower cost of energy and protect your business against future rate hikes.
Can I access the cashback offer for Drive only?
The cashback offer is for our full home energy system. Cashback does not apply to a standalone purchase of Drive.
How long will a Maxeon solar system last?
Maxeon residential and commercial panels are backed by a 25-year limited Combined Power and Product Warranty.
