Solar for utility-scale power plants
Proven technology for today’s
innovative solar power plants.
In close partnership with some of the industry’s most experienced IPPs, utilities, and EPCs, Maxeon’s solar panel technology has been installed in solar power plants across six continents.
-
A legacy of innovation
Successfully delivering a solar power plant is complicated. We know, because we’ve spent a lot of time designing, developing, constructing, and operating solar power plants over the course of our more than 40 years in solar.
-
Ultimate reliability
Reliability is more critical than ever to maximizing investment returns and that’s why Maxeon’s solar panel portfolio is engineered to mitigate the detrimental effects of real-world conditions and deliver more energy over time.
-
Quality supply chain
Maxeon’s patented technology uses high quality materials to maximize production and reliability, while performing ongoing supply chain audits to ensure strict adherence to materials sourcing and human rights policies.
Innovative panel technology.
Maxeon’s panel portfolio delivers industry-leading efficiency with proven resilience to real-world challenges like high heat, humidity, wind, and hail, making our panels an ideal choice to withstand the unforgiving conditions where many solar power plants are sited.
Maxeon Performance Solar Panels
Maxeon Performance panels feature mono PERC cells in an innovative shingled cell design that delivers enhanced efficiency, quality, and reliability compared to conventional front contact panels.
Performance panels are deployed around the world in state-of-the-art power plants such as Gemini Solar + Storage in Nevada, USA (976 MWp), the Limondale Solar Farm in New South Wales, Australia (349 MWp), and the Bikaner 1 Solar Farm in Rajasthan, India (192 MWp).
Maxeon Back Contact Solar Panels
Reliable, high-efficiency Maxeon IBC technology means longer product life cycles that maximize project IRR and LCOE.
With a history of world-class installations such as Solar Star (747 MWp) and California Valley Solar Ranch (313 MWp) in California, USA, and Boulder Solar in Nevada, USA (187 MWp), Maxeon back contact technology has demonstrated viability for large-scale installations.

Why Maxeon?
Technology differentiation is at the heart of what makes Maxeon different, better.
Technology leadership
High-performance, reliable panel technology translates to lower risk for all parties.
High-efficiency technology means projects produce more energy in less space and don’t take as long to construct—key factors in driving down project LCOE.
Energy production is balanced with industry-leading reliability that ensures less project downtime and lower O&M costs over the life of your project.
And it’s all backed by comprehensive warranty coverage that instills peace of mind in our customers.
Focus
Maxeon’s sole focus is on the solar panel—engineering, manufacturing, and deploying panel technologies that maximize customer returns.
And while we have an appreciation for the project development, design, and construction challenges, we are committed to mitigating any complexity that surrounds panel selection and procurement.
From confirming panel interoperability with leading BOS solutions to ensuring panels arrive when and where they’re needed, the Maxeon team provides responsive, knowledgeable support that inspires confidence.
Bankability
Technology with a proven track record means projects are quicker to permit and finance.
There are a lot of parties involved in power plant development—and none of them like surprises. Being able to trust that technology is going to perform as expected makes the process run smoother.
In addition, Maxeon is backed by one of the world’s largest electronics corporations in TCL—oversight and leadership that adds another layer of protection for financiers.
Project portfolio
We’ve designed, developed, constructed, operated and supplied more than 7 GW of solar power plants around the world.
Here’s a closer look at just some of the innovative solar power plants that have deployed SunPower technology since our first power plant installation in 2004.
Solar Star
California, USA
Maxeon (formerly as SunPower Corporation) developed, designed and constructed the 747 MWp Solar Star installation for BHE Solar, a subsidiary of
BHE Renewables. The project was commissioned in 2015 and features 1.7 million Maxeon IBC solar panels covering more than 3,200 acres of desert land near Rosamond, Caifornia.
Gemini Solar + Storage
Nevada, USA
Completed in 2024, the 967 MWp project near Las Vegas, NeVada was developed by Primergy and features more than 1.8 million Maxeon Performance panels. Gemini is the largest co-located solar plus battery energy storage project operating in the US, providing a consistent, dispatchable energy resource specifically designed to support Nevada’s peak energy demands.
Danish Fields
Texas, USA
Commissioned in 2024, Danish Fields is a 720MWp combined solar and storage facility near Houston, Texas. TotalEnergies, who built and continues to operate the site, used Maxeon Performance panels to ensure long-term value and low carbon power to generate the equivalent electricity used by approxiamately 300,000 local homes.
Zier Solar
Texas, USA
Commercial operation for Cypress Creek's largest hybrid facility in Brackettville, Texas began in 2024 with 208MW of photovoltaic capacity provided from more than 380,000 Maxeon Performance solar panels. The Zier project can generate enough energy to power over 40,000 Texas homes each year.
